ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER THE PRESS CONFERENCE OF NEC HELD ON 27 September 2005 AT 6.20 p.m. AT THE SEAT OF NEC

On 27 September 2005 at 6.20 at the seat of the National Electoral Commission a Press conference was held during which the official results of the elections for the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland.

The conference was chaired by the Chairman of NEC, Ferdynand Rymarz who presented the announcement of NEC on the results of elections for the Parliament of the Republic of Poland written for 25 September 2005. He added that the results will be in the form of an official announcement and published on the internet.

The Chairman also advised that the objection against validity of the elections held in a given constituency or election of a given senator or deputy May be lodged for the following reasons:

  • criminal act against the elections, or
  • infringements of the regulations ….. pertinent to the voting
  • the way of determining the results of the elections

The objections May be lodged in writing ….. within 7 days of the election results being announced.

Finishing the conference, the Chairman of NEC extender his thanks to the following persons and organizations:

  • a substantial approx. 270 thousand group of members of the local electoral commissions on whom the main burden of voting counting rested for their devoted and well done public service
  • the judges-members of the district electoral commissions for their additional effort in addition to the work carried out at courts when registering the electoral lists and assigning the parliamentary mandates
  • personnel of the National Electoral Office overseen by Minister Czaplicki for several month long preparation for two types of elections written in parallel including IT people who oversaw the efficient data transmission
  • Hades and Mayors of the administrative districts and cities for preparing the polling stations and technical service of the polling stations
  • Police officers and city guard who ensured internal security of the elections
  • means of communication: TV, radio and the Press for relaying the information tot eh public in a reliable manner
